QUOTATION TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Validity of Quotation
This quotation is valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. After this period, MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd reserves the right to revise the quotation to reflect changes in labour, material, supplier or other associated costs.2. Acceptance of Quotation
Acceptance of this quotation, whether in writing, electronically, verbally, by payment of a deposit, or by instructing MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd to commence work, will be deemed acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.3. Scope of Works
This quotation is based solely on the works specifically described within the quotation. Any works, materials, alterations or services not expressly included are excluded and may be subject to an additional charge.Unless specifically stated otherwise, quotations do not include decorating, plastering, building works, carpentry, flooring repairs, specialist access equipment, asbestos removal, utility provider charges, network operator works, or the relocation of furniture and personal belongings.4. Variations and Additional Works
Any additional works or variations requested by the customer, or found to be necessary once works have commenced, will be charged in addition to the quoted price.Where reasonably practicable, the customer will be informed of additional costs before the additional work is carried out. In urgent circumstances, or where additional work is reasonably necessary to make the installation safe, compliant or operational, MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd may carry out necessary work subject to the customer's approval where practicable.Additional works may affect the original completion date.5. Unforeseen and Concealed Conditions
Quotations are based on visible and reasonably accessible parts of the existing installation at the time of inspection. MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd cannot be held responsible for defects, damage, non-compliance or unforeseen conditions that were concealed or could not reasonably have been identified before work commenced.Examples include, but are not limited to, damaged or deteriorated cables, inaccessible junctions, borrowed neutrals, inadequate earthing or bonding, defective existing equipment, asbestos-containing materials, hidden pipework, structural obstructions, incorrectly installed previous work and faults revealed during testing.Any remedial or additional work required as a result may be quoted and charged separately.6. Existing Electrical Installations
Where new work is connected to an existing electrical installation, the existing installation must be suitable and safe for the proposed alteration or addition. If testing identifies defects that prevent the new work from being safely energised or certified, remedial work may be required at an additional cost.MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd is not responsible for pre-existing faults or defects that become apparent during or after the works.7. Testing, Certification and Compliance
All electrical work will be carried out in accordance with applicable statutory requirements and the current requirements of BS 7671, where relevant to the works undertaken.Electrical certification will be issued where required following satisfactory completion, testing and full payment of all sums due.Where applicable, notifiable work will be notified through the relevant competent person scheme in accordance with current requirements.8. Access and Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for providing safe, reasonable and uninterrupted access to the work areas at the agreed times.Work areas should be cleared of furniture, personal belongings and other obstructions before arrival unless otherwise agreed. Delays caused by restricted access, other trades, unavailable areas, incorrect information or circumstances outside the reasonable control of MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd may result in additional charges and/or changes to the programme.The customer is responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions, including landlord, freeholder, leaseholder, planning or other third-party approvals, unless specifically agreed otherwise.9. Working Hours and Programme
Any proposed start date, duration or completion date is an estimate unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing. MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed timescales but cannot accept liability for delays caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including supplier delays, material shortages, adverse weather, access issues, other trades, hidden defects, utility providers or changes to the scope of works.10. Materials and Products
Materials and products will be supplied as specified in the quotation or, where unavailable, with a suitable equivalent of comparable specification and quality.All materials supplied remain the property of MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd until payment has been received in full, to the extent permitted by law.Special-order, bespoke or non-returnable materials may require payment in advance and may not be refundable once ordered.11. Deposits and Stage Payments
Where a deposit or stage payment schedule is specified, payment must be made in accordance with the stated schedule.Deposits may be used to secure booking dates, allocate labour and purchase materials. Where the customer cancels the works, any refund will be subject to applicable consumer rights and may be reduced by reasonable costs already incurred, including specially ordered materials and work already completed.Failure to make a deposit or stage payment by the due date may result in work being delayed, suspended or rescheduled.
12. Payment Terms
Unless otherwise stated on the quotation or invoice, payment is due upon receipt of the relevant invoice.Payment is accepted by bank transfer only unless otherwise agreed in writing.The customer must raise any genuine query or dispute regarding an invoice promptly. The undisputed portion of an invoice remains payable by the due date.For business customers, MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd reserves the right to claim statutory interest, compensation and reasonable recovery costs on overdue payments where permitted by law.13. VAT
All prices are exclusive of VAT unless expressly stated otherwise. VAT will be charged at the applicable rate in force at the relevant tax point.14. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Where the customer is a consumer and the contract is entered into at a distance or away from business premises, statutory cancellation rights may apply.If the customer requests work to begin during any applicable cancellation period, they may be required to make an express request for the work to commence. If the customer subsequently cancels after work has begun, they may be required to pay for work performed and costs reasonably incurred up to the point of cancellation, subject to applicable consumer law.For cancellations or postponements outside any statutory cancellation rights, MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd reserves the right to recover reasonable costs and losses incurred, including committed labour, non-returnable materials and other directly related expenses.15. Parking, Permits and Additional Charges
Unless specifically included within the quotation, parking charges, congestion charges, tolls, permits and other site-specific charges incurred in carrying out the works may be charged in addition to the quoted price.16. Making Good and Decoration
Electrical installation work may require lifting floorboards, cutting access holes, chasing walls or ceilings, drilling and other minor disturbance to the property.Unless specifically included within the quotation, final plastering, filling, decorating, painting, tiling, flooring repairs and other specialist making-good works are excluded.Reasonable care will be taken to minimise disruption and damage.17. Customer-Supplied Materials
Where the customer supplies equipment or materials, MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd accepts no responsibility for their quality, suitability, compatibility, availability, manufacturer's warranty or defects.Additional labour resulting from incorrect, incomplete, faulty or incompatible customer-supplied products may be charged separately.18. Warranty and Defects
MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd will rectify defects arising directly from its workmanship within a reasonable period following notification, subject to the nature of the work and any applicable statutory rights.This does not cover faults or damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, third-party alterations, pre-existing defects, wear and tear, external influences, manufacturer defects or circumstances outside the reasonable control of MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd.Manufacturer warranties for products and equipment remain subject to the manufacturer's own terms and conditions.Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects the customer's statutory rights.19. Damage and Existing Finishes
Reasonable care will be taken while carrying out the works. MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd cannot accept responsibility for unavoidable damage arising from necessary access to concealed services or from pre-existing weak, defective, loose or deteriorated finishes, fixtures or structures.20. Suspension or Termination of Works
MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd reserves the right to suspend works where payment is overdue, the site is unsafe, access is prevented, the customer materially breaches the agreement, or continuing the work would be unlawful or unsafe.Any resulting delay, remobilisation or additional reasonable cost may be chargeable.21. Photographs and Records
Photographs may be taken before, during and after the works for technical records, certification, evidence of installation and quality-control purposes.Photographs will not be used for marketing purposes where the customer or property can be readily identified without appropriate permission.22. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.Subject to applicable law, MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, losses caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, or business losses suffered by a consumer.23. Ownership of Quotation
This quotation, including its pricing, design, specifications and supporting information, is provided for the customer's use in considering the proposed works and remains the intellectual property of MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd where applicable. It must not be reproduced or used by third parties for commercial purposes without permission.24. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions and any contract arising from this quotation will be governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights.25. Acceptance
By accepting this quotation, paying any requested deposit or instructing MCG Electrical Solutions Ltd to proceed, the customer confirms that they have read, understood and accepted the quotation, scope of works and these Terms & Conditions.
